This paper dealt with studying the nature of idea of ethnical community in literary dialogue in magazine The Bosanska vila, in the period from 1885 to 1914. This paper deals with the relationship between the published texts in the magazine and political ideas from that period. It was important to take into consideration the ideas of the magazine as a literary form, the dialogue potential of the texts published in periodical papers, and synchronic changes of evolutionary and sudden changes in the culture and ideological mission of the magazines published at the beginning of the 20th century. Special attention was devoted to the literary-historical rechecking of the context of the materials, and the influence of the political ideas on the editorial policy of the magazines, as well as the attempts of predominance of discontinuity in cultural politics in the terms of the relationship between the central vs. marginal, traditional vs. modern, and political vs. artistic texts. Observing the genesis of Yugoslavism showed us its contradictions and inconsistencies in political terms, while in spiritual terms, this idea accomplished its consistency through cultural and political programme of the Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This idea later became the idea of the Yugoslav community of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
