Trauma in Contemporary Serbian Literature: Introductory Note
Abstract
Thematic issue „Trauma in contemporary Serbian literature“ emerged as a result of the work of the first work package within the project "Serbian Literature 1991–2021: Identity, Trauma, Memory" (SLITaM), number 1634, funded by the Serbian Republic's Science Fund under the Identities program. The main intention of the entire project is to explore Serbian literature from the previous few decades for the first time through a collaborative and systematic effort. Given the extensive and highly diverse corpus of material, which cannot be comprehensively examined within the relatively short duration of the two-year project, we have set ourselves the task of exploring this period through several key concepts, through which numerous relevant achievements of contemporary Serbian literature can be interpreted as through focal points, while simultaneously invoking very current methodological approaches in contemporary humanities studies.
